Registering for this event means that you give NAM permission to take and use photographs or recordings taken during this event and use and sublicense such material for any purpose in print, advertisements, films or videos and on-line and broadcast presentations of any sort.

The Faculty Conference on Research and Teaching Excellence (FCRTE) is a two-day meeting, which rotates around the country based on NAM's regional structure. The conference is geared for faculty from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).

The conference, hosted by Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, Georgia on April 10-11, 2026 consists of four components:

  • Albert Turner Bharucha-Reid Lecture
    This is an hour-long talk which proceeds the Friday banquet.
  • Recognition Banquet
    This dinner takes place Friday evening.
  • Contributed Talks
    Eight faculty speakers may present on topics of their choice. Each faculty speaker has 20 minutes to present with 5-10 minutes of questions and answers
  • Panel Discussion
    A discussion to focus on issues relevant to the region in which the conference is held. The conference will close out on Saturday with this discussion.
